Chalkline privacy policy

Information stored on your device

Chalkline stores the teams, player names and jersey numbers, schedules, tournaments, lineups, rule choices, append-only game journals, statistics, preferences, optional player photos, and retained score-sheet pages that you enter. Player photos and active scoring journals remain device-local.

Chalkline is designed for youth teams as well as adult teams. Do not enter birthdates. Guardian contact information is not part of Chalkline’s roster and is not included in exports or sharing.

Optional private iCloud sync

If you enable private iCloud sync, eligible scorebook metadata, finalized game archives, and retained score-sheet pages are stored in your private CloudKit database so they can follow your Apple Account. Apple operates CloudKit. Player photos and the active scoring journal do not sync through this feature.

Optional encrypted live following

When a scorer chooses Share Live, Chalkline places client-encrypted game records in CloudKit’s public database. Public records contain ciphertext and nonpersonal protocol information; names, plays, scores, notes, contacts, photos, private lineup categories, and exact location are not stored there in plaintext.

The sharing link is a capability: anyone who receives it can decrypt the shared game in Chalkline. Shared player labels default to first name and jersey number. Revoke and delete are best effort and cannot recall information a recipient already downloaded. A report sends only the capability and evidence the follower deliberately selects.

Optional Simply Softball connection

If you connect a team to Simply Softball, Chalkline uses the coach’s Simply Login authorization to read the selected team’s players, seasons, and schedule and to write approved results or statistics. Tokens are stored in Keychain. Chalkline does not request guardian or contact records. Disconnecting removes authorization and mappings while leaving the local scorebook usable.

Optional score-sheet scanning

After an adult confirms the upload, Chalkline sends one to four normalized page images for one game to an isolated Chalkline AWS account. AWS Bedrock returns a review-only draft and does not make authoritative changes.

Inputs and outputs are encrypted in transit and at rest. Terminal processing deletes them, with a fail-safe window of no more than 24 hours. Bedrock model-invocation logging is disabled; enabled models and regions must use a zero-retention, no-training configuration. Logs exclude images, OCR text, prompts containing user content, model output, names, and scorebook facts.

AWS retains only opaque purchase-wallet, transaction, credit, idempotency, status, version, size, timing, and deletion-audit metadata. A retained source page stays in protected local storage or, when private sync is enabled, the user’s private CloudKit database.

Purchases and device integrity

Apple processes the cosmetic Supporter Pack and consumable scan credits through StoreKit; Solve IT Simply does not receive payment-card details. The scan service verifies signed transaction evidence and stores only an opaque transaction digest and credit ledger. Scan requests use App Attest evidence to reduce fraud and replay.

Export, deletion, and support

Chalkline provides export and deletion controls for the data available in the installed version. CloudKit deletion and live-share recall are best effort when a device is offline or another person already downloaded a record.

If you contact support, Solve IT Simply receives the information you choose to include and uses it to respond, investigate abuse, or fulfill a deletion request. Avoid sending unnecessary information about minors.

Information we do not use

Chalkline does not sell personal information, serve ads, build advertising profiles, track people across apps or websites, or use scorebook content to train models. It does not request contacts, precise location, microphone, or Health data for these features.
