The scorebook

Chalkline is a recording and calculation tool. The scorer remains authoritative. Rules checks, pitch-count notices, end-game suggestions, statistics, score-sheet extractions, and other automated results may be incomplete or incorrect and do not replace an umpire, league rulebook, coach, medical professional, or official record keeper.

Pitch counts and rest history are informational tracking, not medical advice.

Teams and minors

You are responsible for having authority to enter, photograph, export, connect, or share team and player information. For youth teams, use the least identifying information that works, obtain any consent your organization requires, and do not enter birthdates or unnecessary guardian information.

Sharing and connected services

A live-follow link is a decryption capability. Anyone with the link may view and retain the shared game until it expires or is revoked. Do not post a capability publicly unless you intend public access, and do not submit abusive, unlawful, infringing, or dangerously misleading content.

CloudKit, the App Store, Simply Softball, and AWS are operated under their respective terms. Networked features are best effort. The offline manual scorebook remains available without them.

Score-sheet drafts

AI output is a proposal for adult review, not an authoritative score. You must review extracted facts, unknown coverage, and differences before accepting a change or continuing from a paper checkpoint. Chalkline intentionally refuses to invent missing sequence or state.

Purchases

The Supporter Pack is a one-time cosmetic in-app purchase. Scan credits are consumable purchases for optional external processing; they do not expire and never gate manual scoring, correction, statistics, export, rule presets, tournaments, calendars, or following.

Apple handles billing and refund requests under App Store terms. Fraud, revocation, or a completed refund may reverse the corresponding entitlement or unused credit grant. A valid reviewable scan draft that you later discard is a completed scan.

Your data

You retain responsibility for and rights in the scorebook information you provide. The privacy policy describes how Chalkline handles that information. You may export and delete data using controls in the installed version.

Changes and support

Material changes to these terms or the privacy policy will be dated and published with the app or its product page.
